- General practice with emphasis in business and commercial transactions, business entities (corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies), contracts, estate planning (wills, trusts and elder law), estate administration (probate), commercial and residential real estate, and civil and commercial litigation.


Experience:

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Mr. Furgason joined the firm in 1974 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame. He has been a partner in the firm since 1979. In addition to his general practice and broad trial court experience, Mr. Furgason has argued cases before the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals Seventh Circuit. He was a charter member, president and director of the Aurora Evening Lions Club, and has served as a member of the Holy Angels Parish Council, a member of Rosary High School Parents' Auxiliary Board, a pro bono attorney for CASA Kane County, the Compassion Foundation and the Transitional Living Center advisory board in Aurora. Professional associations include the Kane County, Illinois State and American Bar Associations, Illinois Association of Health Care Attorneys, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and The Fox Valley Estate Planning Council.
